All area schools have or will have begun their new years. Good luck to everyone. The most important thing to remember is to get adequate rest, to eat well, and of course hit the books. Highlands Schools will hold an open house on Aug. 22 from 4-6. A great time to meet the teachers and get those locker assignments. Locks (only those offered through the school are allowed) can be purchased for $10. Parking spaces for high school are $25. If you are in the athletic program, there will be a meeting after 6pm for everyone involved. Be sure to stay as this is a very important meeting if your child wishes to participate in sports.New this year…
Highlands schools will dismiss 5 minutes early at 2:55 pm. Middle schoolers have an opportunity to participate in the Wheel program – a series of 6 week courses offering everything from vocational arts to language classes. This is a great opportunity for kids to get hands on training on different issues.Verizon & Ingles are offering neat options. Be sure to tell Mom to call 888-215-5717.
