North Carolina County Property Tax Information

 

Property taxes vary from county to county.  The following are the 2007 property tax rates.  For any additional information concerning taxes….contact the local county if you have any questions.

 

 

JacksonCounty:         36 cents per $100 in property value or $360 per $100,000.

MaconCounty:           37 cents per $100 in property value or $370 per $100,000.

TransylvaniaCounty:  54 center per $100 in property value or $540 per $100,000

BuncombeCounty:     53 cents per $100 in property value or $530 per $100,000

Transylvania            Brevard                                828-884-3196       828-883-3200     Brevard When a property sells, the taxes on the property will be prorated between Buyer and Seller.  The closing attorney will check with the county to make sure the current taxes have been paid.  If you are the buyer be sure to contact your local tax office if you have not received a tax bill by the end of September.  Chances are if you have not, the tax statement will have been sent to the Seller’s address.
